I'm Tellin You Y... |
BYU has an insane number of RMs. If you are an RM then this post is for you! You just got home from your mission and your off to school. Thank goodness that school is BYU, becuase as a fresh RM college and the world can seem like a scary place, but it would be way worse at other colleges. As a fresh RM and a new BYU student there are a few things you need to remember.
1. You can work your misison sotries into every converstaion. Talk about the weather, the people, the experiences, you had on your mission. Or, talk about how you still wake up at 6:30 and go to bed at 10, how you can't talked to the opposite sex, and how you now have the best study habits in the world! 2. If you spoke another language on your mission, take that language as a class! It will be a breeze and you get to use your language skills so you don't lose them. Also it is very impressive. 3. Stick to the plan you made before you left your mission 4. Ward memebers will not generally volunteer to feed you so you better not get rid of any leftover macoroni. 5. You can keep in contact with your family via phone calls! More than just two times a year! 6. Go home for Christmas 7. Keep yourself busy...get a job! 8. You will probably be asked to give talks or teach lessons on a regular bases, so that much hasn't changed 9. Music and TV are a necessitiy, but you might want to easy back into them slowly 10. There are lots of temples close to campus! Make time to visit! Remember, everyone wants to date the RMs so ask people out, go out and before you know it BYU will seem a lot less scary, however, I make no promises about the rest of the world. Watch for the next instalment of Religiously BYU where we disscuss the recent Christmas devotional!
